In My Singing Monsters, you breed by putting two different monsters, both at least level 4, into the Breeding Structure. The baby usually gets every element from both parents combined, so Tweedle (Air) + Potbelly (Plant) gives a Dandidoo (Air, Plant). If the parents share an element, the attempt fails and you get one of the parents back. Two singles make a double, a double plus a single makes a triple, and a triple plus a single is the best route to a four-element quad.
Everything below covers the five natural islands (Plant, Cold, Air, Water and Earth): every combination, the Ethereal monsters, the special ones like Shugabush, and how to improve your odds. Combinations and costs come from the community-run My Singing Monsters Wiki as of October 2026.
The breeding rules that decide every result
Once these click, you can work out almost any combination yourself instead of memorizing a list.
- Elements add up. The baby has the elements of both parents together. Air + Water = Quibble. Quibble + Cold = Congle.
- No repeats. If both parents share an element, the result fails for normal monsters. Drumpler (Earth, Cold) + Mammott (Cold) won’t make anything new.
- Level 4 minimum. Both parents need to be level 4 or higher. Higher levels help your odds, up to at least level 15, per the wiki.
- Left or right doesn’t matter. Swapping which parent goes on which side changes nothing.
- Bigger monsters are harder. Doubles from two singles appear to be guaranteed. Triples can fail and hand you a parent. Quads fail the most.
The reason this matters: you’ll often see “wrong” monsters hatch, and it’s almost never a bug. It’s just a failed attempt, so try again.
My Singing Monsters breeding chart for natural monsters
The chart lists every natural monster with its elements and a combination that works on its home island. Any other pair whose elements add up to the same set, without repeats, works too.

| Bowgart | Plant, Water, Cold | Furcorn + Toe Jammer | Plant, Cold |
| T-Rox | Earth, Water, Cold | Maw + Noggin | Plant, Air |
Elements and island lists follow the wiki’s Natural Monsters page. Doubles and triples above use the wiki’s listed defaults where it gives one, such as on the Plant Island page, and simple element math for the rest.
How to breed the quad-element monsters
Each natural island has one quad, and it’s the monster most players get stuck on. A triple plus a single works better than two doubles, according to the wiki. Pick a single that hatches fast, because a failed attempt that hands you the single back costs you minutes instead of hours.
| Island | Quad | Elements | Best-bet combinations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plant | Entbrat | Plant, Earth, Water, Cold | Bowgart + Noggin; also Clamble + Toe Jammer, Pummel + Mammott |
| Cold | Deedge | Air, Plant, Water, Cold | Spunge + Mammott, Thumpies + Toe Jammer; also Maw + Dandidoo |
| Air | Riff | Air, Earth, Water, Cold | Congle + Noggin, PomPom + Toe Jammer, Scups + Mammott |
| Water | Shellbeat | Air, Plant, Earth, Water | Spunge + Noggin, Reedling + Toe Jammer |
| Earth | Quarrister | Air, Plant, Earth, Cold | Thumpies + Noggin, Reedling + Mammott |
Base hatch times on the Cold Island and Earth Island pages show why the single matters: Noggin takes 5 seconds, Toe Jammer 1 minute and Mammott 2 minutes, while Potbelly takes 2 hours and Tweedle 4. Triples take 12 hours and quads 24.
How to breed Ethereal monsters on the natural islands
Pair the island’s quad with any triple from the same island. The odds are low, about 1% per try according to the wiki’s Ethereal Monsters page, rising to roughly 5% during Ethereal Breeding Bonanza events. Most attempts give you a triple back, so expect a long grind outside of events.
| Island | Ethereal | Element | Breed the quad with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plant | Ghazt | Plasma | Entbrat + Clamble, Bowgart, T-Rox or Pummel |
| Cold | Grumpyre | Shadow | Deedge + Congle, Bowgart, Spunge or Thumpies |
| Air | Reebro | Mech | Riff + Congle, Scups, PomPom or T-Rox |
| Water | Jeeode | Crystal | Shellbeat + Spunge, Pummel, Scups or Reedling |
| Earth | Humbug | Poison | Quarrister + Clamble, Thumpies, PomPom or Reedling |
A successful Ethereal egg takes 1 day 12 hours, or 1 day 3 hours in an Enhanced Breeding Structure. A failed try usually shows the 12-hour timer of a triple instead.
Shugabush, Mythical, Seasonal, Rare and Epic monsters
Special monsters break the normal element rules, so you have to know the exact pair. A few that people breed on Plant Island, per the wiki:
- Shugabush (Legendary): Bowgart + Clamble. It doesn’t succeed every time, so plan on several tries.
- G’joob (Mythical): Pummel + T-Rox.
- Punkleton (Seasonal, Spooktacle): Bowgart + T-Rox, only while the Halloween season is running.
- Yool (Seasonal): Thumpies + Congle during the “Yay” season.
Rare monsters use the same combinations as their common versions, but only during announced availability windows. Rare singles are the exception: they come from two triples that share that element. Epic monsters have their own island-specific pairs. Epic Entbrat on Plant Island, for example, is T-Rox + Shrubb. Check your in-game mailbox, where the game announces Rare and Epic windows and breeding promotions.
How to speed up breeding and improve your odds
You can’t change the base odds of a combination, but you can stack the small advantages. As of October 2026, the wiki lists:
- Level up the parents. Odds improve with parent level up to at least level 15. Feed your main breeding pairs first.
- Light Wishing Torches. Each island with breeding can hold up to 10. Lighting one costs 2 diamonds for 24 hours or 100 diamonds permanently, and friends or visitors can light one per visit for free. Lit torches boost the odds for special monsters, according to the Wishing Torch page.
- Upgrade to the Enhanced Breeding Structure. It costs 25 diamonds and cuts breeding wait times by 25%, per the Breeding Structure page.
- Add a second Breeding Structure. A Bonus Breeding Structure costs 40 diamonds per island, but it only appears once you’ve made at least one purchase in the game.
- Use diamonds to skip timers only for something you really need during a limited event. They’re better spent on the upgrades above.
Mistakes that waste breeding time
Most breeding frustration comes from a handful of avoidable slips:
- Breeding below level 4. Both parents have to reach level 4 before they can be paired, so feed them first.
- Repeating an element. Pairs like Maw + Clamble share Cold and can’t make Entbrat, however many times you try.
- Using two doubles for a quad. It works, but a triple plus a fast single fails faster and more cheaply.
- Looking on the wrong island. Each natural island only hosts four elements. Riff, for example, lives on Air Island and not on the other four natural islands.
- Chasing Rares outside their window. Outside an event, a Rare combo just gives you the common version.
Frequently asked questions
What level do monsters need to be to breed in My Singing Monsters?
Both parents must be at least level 4. Higher levels improve your odds, up to at least level 15, according to the My Singing Monsters Wiki.
Can you breed two of the same monster?
No. The Breeding Structure needs two different species, and two monsters that share an element won’t produce a new common monster.
Why did I get one of the parents instead of the new monster?
That’s a failed attempt, not a bug. Triples and quads don’t always succeed, and when they fail you get a copy of one of the parents.
Can you breed Wubbox?
No. Wubbox can’t go into the Breeding Structure. It’s a Supernatural monster you obtain separately, not through a breeding pair.
Does the order of the parents matter?
No. Putting a monster on the left or the right side of the Breeding Structure gives the same result.
How long does breeding take in My Singing Monsters?
It depends on the result: Noggin takes 5 seconds, most doubles 8 hours, triples 12 hours, quads 24 hours and Ethereals 1 day 12 hours. An Enhanced Breeding Structure cuts these by 25%.
